What Is An Outdoor Led Display?
An outdoor LED display performs the same functions as its indoor counterpart but it is obviously meant to be installed outdoors. You can find outdoor LED displays on the external structures of buildings. In addition they are also installed separately to display advertisements.

Installation process: Installing an LED display indoors requires a lot of planning since there is limited available space. Indoor LED displays are usually installed on walls and installation must be done in a way that the display doesn’t obstruct the path.
On the other hand, an outdoor LED display often requires you to construct a solid frame that serves as the anchor point to install the display.
Display brightness: The brightness of an outdoor LED display is much higher than an indoor counterpart. This means an outdoor display is going to have a higher nits (brightness) rating compared to an indoor display of a similar size.
The reason for outdoor LED displays being more bright compared to indoor ones is simple. Since indoor LED displays are installed inside the building there isn’t any direct sunlight falling on them. Therefore they don’t have to be extremely bright to produce a clear and easy to view display.
On the other hand outdoor LED displays have to overcome sunlight and the light from other bright light sources around them. Therefore an outdoor LED display can be as bright as 7500 nits while indoor ones have a brightness rating of around 1,500 nits.
Resolution differences: Resolution differences between an indoor and outdoor LED display are clear just by viewing them. An outdoor LED display is meant to be installed high up as a signboard or above the entrance of a building.
Therefore the viewing distance for outdoor LED displays is pretty high which means they don’t have to be high resolution displays. On the other hand, indoor LED displays are meant to be viewed from a distance of a few feet and therefore they need high resolution to produce a clear image.
Due to the high resolution of the indoor LED displays they are often more expensive than the outdoor one’s. However, you can also choose the resolutions for your LED display to fit your budget and requirements.
Pixel pitch differences: Last but not least both indoor and outdoor LED displays have different pixel pitches. While the resolution of a display tells us how many pixels there are within a square inch of a display pixel pitch shows how much space there is between each pixel.
Since outdoor LED displays have a long viewing distance they have a large pixel pitch compared to indoor ones. When viewing an LED display upclose viewers can easily notice the space between the pixels due to unclear images.
Therefore it is best to go with a low pixel pitch when choosing indoor LED displays and a higher pitch when choosing outdoor ones.
